We thought February was a full month. But turns out it's got nothing on March. Between new and continuing exhibitions, talks, conferences and workshops there are over 40 events (and counting) on the ID2015 programme for March. So make yourself a cup of coffee get out your calendar and settle in for a long read. We don't think you'll be short on design inspiration this month.
In the Making and Fresh Talent are in their final weeks, so if you haven't seen them make your way to the ID2015 Design Hubs at Dublin Castle and the National Craft Gallery, Kilkenny to catch them before they go. With full talks and family programmes around them, there's lots to see and do. Find out more in the links below:

Meanwhile, at PORTFOLIO @ Solomon, the ceramics exhibition ends on March 14th, with their glass exhibition opening on March 19th. In London, Second Skin will make its first foray abroad, opening on March 16th at City Hall and PORTFOLIO Side by Side opens at the ID2015 Design Hub, National Craft Gallery, Kilkenny, on March 28th.
There'll be lots happening for the St Patrick's Day Festival, with more ID2015 involvement to be revealed on March 4th.
The first of the major conferences gets underway early in March. The Ibec CEO conference, with superstar design speakers such as Jason Mayden of Mark One and Tom Kelley of Ideo, is on March 4th, while the creative powerhouse that is OFFSET is on from 6th to 8th March. We're delighted that Edward Barber of Barber & Osgerby, curators of In the Making, will be speaking on Friday at noon, and Doug Powell of IBM will be part of an ID2015 panel on the second stage on Saturday.
Before his appearance at OFFSET, Edward Barber will be speaking at DIT Grangegorman on March 5th. An educational lecture for design students and graduates, Thinking & Making is presented by the British Council as the first event in a year-long series of masterclasses by leading designers from Britain, Germany, Italy and Spain organised by EUNIC Ireland in partnership with ID2015. Tickets for this are selling fast, so get yours here while you can. The GEECT Symposium: Teaching Production Design at the National Film School, IADT happens from 11th to 13th March, while Make 2 at Cork Institute of Techonology is on from the 9th to 11th of March.

Around the country, ID2015 supported events are really starting to get going with a plethora of workshops, talks and exhibitions to choose from. Events such as Lifelogging Lab at the Science Gallery, Darc Space, the Making Space Blueprint Talks and The Liquor Rooms Cocktails + Design talks, are already underway and proving to be hugely popular, so here's your definitive guide to what's coming up in March:
March 6th: Opening in the Irish Architectural Archive is The Ulster Museum: Evolution amidst Revolution tracing the architectural evolution of the Ulster Museum over the last 100 years.
March 12th: Opening in the Gallery of Photography is Resonate, showing the work of 23 photographers with a uniquely Irish perspective on fashion, textiles, locations, landscape, culture, models and climate.
March 13th: In the Leitrim Sculpture Centre, Harnessing Creativity’s Expanded Territories is an experimental combination of exhibition, demonstrations, masterclasses, talks and screenings – a true celebration of all things creative. It travels to Catalyst Arts Centre in Belfast on March 30th, with a creative conference at the Dock in Carrick on Shannon on March 27th.
March 19th: Hidden Stories of Design: The secret life of objects opens at the Little Museum of Dublin, featuring untold design stories of 20th century Dublin history objects.

March 7th: Graphic Studio in collaboration with Fab Lab Limerick are holding a series of workshops around researching and addressing the problems with the evolving world of wearable electronic. For full listing and event information, visit the Fab Lab website.
March 8th: At the National Craft Gallery, there'll be a design process workshop with Kate O’Kelly, exploring collage techniques and assemblage to create a unique artwork using images of familiar objects. Click here for booking and more details.

March 28th: Institute of Designers Ireland and DPP Skillnet present a one day infographic workshop with Valentina D’Efilippo at the Fumbally Exchange. To book, go to the DPP Skillnet website.
Starting in March, Fab Lab Limerick are holding a series of talks on design and digital fabrication.
A talk called Material Hybrid and Digital Craft by the Interaction Design Centre will happen at the Absolute Hotel, Limerick.*
March 19th: Makers & Brothers & Others will begin their talks series in Smock Alley Theatre.*
March 12th: Interaction Ireland host a talk in NCAD.*
The first of the funded publications will be published, so keep an eye out for Notations, Universal Design Guidelines for Homes in Ireland, FAULT LINES and Building Material Issue 20.
And, Electric Picnic’s mobiletropolis Trailer Park is calling for fresh designers to bring impractical caravan or mobile home dreams to life, and host it at the Electric Picnic 2015. The entry form is here and you can find out all you need to know here. Entries close on March 18th.
