Two innovative international jewellery designers, Felieke van der Leest (The Netherlands/ Norway) and Zoe Robertson (UK) each lead a one day masterclass based on their own practices, exploring the use of non-precious materials in jewellery design, development and making. Both Zoe and Felieke are well recognized and exhibit internationally and will also be presenting lectures at the Material Alchemy seminar at the Parade Tower on March 11th.

Masterclass with Felieke van der Leest

Dutch jewellery and object artist Felieke van der Leest expresses in her work the special affection that she has for animals. She combines techniques used in textile work with valuable metals and plastic toy animals. This one day workshop will look at transforming a found object, or objects, into a piece of jewellery. You’ll be introduced to simple tools and domestic textile techniques such as knitting and crochet.

Masterclass with Zoe Robertson

Jewellery artist Zoe Robertson is interested in the relationship between the object, the body and space. Her jewellery is theatrical in scale and often responds to kinaesthetic sensations of tactility, sensuality and physicality. Join Zoe in this 1-day masterclass to challenge the boundaries of jewellery and experiment with a breadth of unconventional materials, seeking out your own visual language and developing new design ideas.
