Irish Design 2015 invites you to visit In The Making exhibition at the Design Hub @ Dublin Castle - then take on a Design Challenge: thinking, drawing, designing and making.
In The Making features 24 objects paused mid-way through their manufacture. Curated by designers by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby as a touring exhibition for the Design Museum in London, this fascinating exhibition leads us on an exploration of how familiar objects from the marble to the Macbook are designed and produced.
Once you’ve explored the exhibition, thought about design, how things are made and how they do what they do – join us in our learning gallery to take on your own Design Challenge. Adults and children are invited to work through a number of fun challenges from prototyping your own innovative chair, to designing a system to hold the weight on a miniature table and solving the ultimate designers challenge of quick access to pencils. Your creativity, design thinking and making skills will be put to the test! These brainteaser Design Challenges are fun for families to do together or for friends to figure out, call in to the Design Hub @ Dublin Castle during St Patrick's Fest for some design inspiration!
