Irish Design 2015 and EUNIC present Design Now, a symposium exploring contemporary design in a European context. Design Now will explore diverging contemporary design practices across architecture, exhibition and retail design, industrial and product design, and conceptual design.
Speakers: Philipp Mainzer of E15, Germany | Fran Edgerley of Turner Prize nominated Assemble Studio, UK | Alex Terzariol of MM Design, Italy | Francesco Zurlo of Politecnico di Milano, Italy | Andrew Griffin of Urban Agency, Ireland | Cormac O'Conaire of Design Partners, Ireland
The symposium asks each of the eminent designers to discuss their design approach and the processes they utilize within their design practices. Through discussion of recent and on-going projects, Design Now will explore: how the designers work collaboratively; their approach to projects; managing clients; and, testing the success of designs. The symposium is structured around two sessions: Design of Objects and Design of Spaces.
Design Now is part of the EUNIC series of lectures and masterclasses, presented by Irish Design 2015 with British Council, Goethe Institut and Italian Institute of Culture. The EUNIC programme also involves international designers facilitating educational masterclasses with 3rd level students across the country throughout Design Week 2015.
