DESIGN BITES is a new series of informal design, making and innovation talks over a cuppa. Pop out at lunchtime for 30 minutes of fresh thinking and conversation at the ID2015 Design Hub at Dublin Castle. These bite-sized talks are a curated range of informative snapshots from designers, makers and innovators. Connecting with themes within Irish Design 2015 exhibitions, DESIGN BITES aims to spark conversation, share ideas and spur new collaborations. Bring your sandwich and we’ll provide the tea, biscuits and design ideas for you to chew on.
ID2015 are delighted to welcome Love & Robots to talk in this first series of DESIGN BITES, programmed to complement the ID2015 Design Hub at Dublin Castle inaugural exhibition In The Making, curated as a touring exhibition for the Design Museum in London by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby.
Recently awarded the €25,000 ESB Spark of Genius Award at the Web Summit, Love & Robots is a design brand with a difference, founded by architects Emer O’Daly, Kate O’Daly and computer scientists, Aoibh O'Daly and Miguel Alonso. They enable customers to influence, re-design and personalise the products they buy, and collaborate with their community of designers using 3d printing to create beautifully-crafted, customizable, unique, 3d printed and locally-made products. Every three months they post a new design call for members to submit design ideas. They then co-create a selection of those products with the designers and launch them on the Love & Robots website.
